PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES


Walter Houghtaling is a member of the Colorado Bar Association's Professional Liability Committee and will serve as the committee’s chair in 2005-06. In 2003, he was the chair of the committee's 2002 "Preventing Legal Malpractice" seminar. Mr Houghtaling is a Fellow of the Colorado Bar Foundation, which is dedicated to assisting and promoting the justice system in Colorado . A graduate of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, he has been an instructor for the Institute as well as the University of Denver College of Law and Regis University.

Linda Siderius serves as a visiting faculty member at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs where she teaches courses related to health law and ethics. She is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Denver School of Law and teaches Bioethics. She is a past chair of the Health Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association. Ms. Siderius is also an elected member of the State Personnel Board helping to adjudicate personnel cases in state government. The Board passes rules and regulations which govern the administration of the state personnel system.

Michael T. McConnell lectures frequently to lawyers, health care professional and insurance professionals on a variety of topics including legal ethics, legal malpractice litigation and prevention, trial tactics and motion practice, medical malpractice litigation, and health law. Mr. McConnell is a member of the Colorado Bar Association Professional Liability Committee. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the organization’s Colorado State Committee.

Cindy Fleischner a member of the American, Colorado, Denver and Colorado Women’s Bar Associations. She has served on the Colorado Bar Association’s Ethics Committee since 1992 and is the Chair of the Ethics Committees’ Education Subcommittee. Ms. Fleischner is on the faculty of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Colorado Bar Association Continuing Legal Education, Inc., and for the Rose Women’s Foundation.

Jim Miletich is an active member of the American, Colorado, Denver and Arapahoe County Bar Associations. He has conducted legal seminars for insurance companies and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Denver School of Law. Mr. Miletich has also represented a number of clients through area pro bono programs.

Christine Craigmile is often asked to speak to physicians, hospital and long-term care facility groups and insurers, and other lawyers on a variety of medical/legal topics. She has presented "Mock Trials" and "Mock Depositions" across the state.

Traci Van Pelt is a member of the Colorado Bar Association’s Ethics Committee and is a frequent lecturer on attorney ethics and professional liability matters. Ms. Van Pelt often speaks to health care practitioners on medical malpractice issues. She is the featured author for the February 2005 issue of The Colorado Lawyer, writing about legal ethics in settlement.

Troy Rackham is a member of the Legal Services Committee and the Labor and Employment Law Committee of the Colorado Bar Association. Mr. Rackham volunteers time to support various Denver Bar Association and Colorado Bar Association clinics, community, and pro bono programs. He has also prepared and presented legal education programs regarding the HIPAA medical privacy regulations, the use of Colorado Consumer Protection Act and EMTALA claims in medical malpractice litigation, and causation considerations in legal malpractice case. Mr. Rackham is an Associate Barrister in the William Doyle Inn of Court.
